What a lovely way to celebrate an engagement by having your engagement photos taken in the same spot as your first kiss. We had the best time shooting during a heat wave in the middle of January- not rare in Southern California.
Oh man. I've totally neglected this blog due to major wedding planning cramming!
Jill and Mike are the sweetest couple! They recently moved to California from New York City and wanted a beachy feel for their session. We met at the Malibu Beach Pier on one of the most perfect weather days and had the best time together. I am so happy with the way these images turned out, you can really see how much these two love each other.
Have you been thinking of having your portraits taken? Do you need any updated family photos? If so, let me know! I'd love to get you behind my lens.
Aimee and Evan are getting married this September, and though I'm not shooting their wedding, their engagement session was the next best thing! We drove around Long Beach and found some pretty killer backdrops that were just perfect for what we needed. I am always trying to think outside the box when I shoot, and I was able to test my creativity with these two.
So many engagement sessions happening right now! Jenn and Robert will be getting married this fall at the Gray Matter Museum of Art, a new wedding venue in Newport Beach, an exclusive venue for The Event Loft. Jenn really wanted to incorporate something fun into their shoot…and what's more fun than 3 dozen balloons?! They wanted to have their session on Balboa Island because that's where Robert proposed. It was really a great time perusing the alleys and various backdrops for our session. Thanks for getting sandy with me guys!
Can we talk about how amazing Jenn's engagement ring is?! It's gone through 4 generations in Robert's family, and each time it's passed on, it gets a new setting. Jenn wanted to make sure we captured the essence of the ring before it gets reset for their wedding.

I absolutely LOVE this engagement session I shot recently at Crystal Cove state park. It was so much fun, and I was able to get creative with shots because Eric and Miriam are dear friends of mine. I was flattered when they asked me to shoot their engagement photos, since i'll be attending their May wedding, I couldn't be there photographer. We were also incredibly lucky that the sunset on this particular day was just stunning. Enjoy!

Emily and Paul met while studying abroad in Australia…and have been connected ever since. They were both in a lovely Monterey wedding I shot this summer, and when Emily asked me to be her photographer, I was thrilled to be working with them again. I flew up to San Francisco for their engagement photos, and we had such a fun time around the city, the weather was unseasonably warm, and we made it to many iconic locations. Thank you Emily + Paul for making my job so easy!
Melissa and Ryan are in a word...AMAZING. They live in the Bay area but are getting married in Newport Beach, Melissa's hometown, this August. I flew up to San Francisco for their engagement session, and we certainly made the most of our time. We started off in Ryan's Portrero hill neighborhood and then made our way down to the Embarcadero, ending with a beautiful sunset in the Presidio and Golden Gate bridge. Can't wait for your wedding, you two!
Rachel and I worked together in college and have kept in touch over the years. When I first moved to SF I made sure to see her and catch up on her life. She told me about her boyfriend, Garrett and how wonderful he was. So, it was no surprise that the two got engaged this year! They had a pretty clear idea of what they wanted to do for their engagement shoot, showcase the best of SF. We started in SoMa and worked our way through the Palace of Fine Arts, Presidio, Baker Beach and finally Pier 7. It was such a surprisingly clear and brisk day, it was impossible not to get a great shot of the two. Rachel and Garrett: I can't wait for your wedding this September!
Ashley and Frankie have been together for 10 years, and to mark that anniversary, Frankie proposed to Ashley by surprising her with a gorgeous ring during a trip to Vegas surrounded by their family and friends. They were so fun to work with and I got to shoot film and digital. I'm kinda in love with these images, and it's amazing to see it radiate off the screen. We shot around Pirate's Cove and Big Corona in Corona del Mar. It was an absolutely gorgeous evening complete with a perfect sunset.
I had the pleasure of shooting Kirsten and Darren's engagement session this fall. They were up for anything, and we certainly made use of all of the gorgeous natural backdrops. Kirsten is a yoga instructor and Darren runs a nonprofit organization based in South Africa. They are both such kind, relaxed people, that it made the session that much cooler.
Rachel and Dominic are Bay area natives who just moved back after living in New York for a few years. For their session they wanted to explore the beauty of the San Jose Rose Garden and Treasure Island. The light could not have been better, and these two were such naturals throughout the day! I am so excited for their big day in October.
It's always exciting when your work gets featured on some amazing blogs! Here are some recent features from the last few weeks!
Tami and Gregg's engagement session was featured on Ever Ours!
My first time featured on On to Baby with Jenny's maternity session.
I love VSCO Film, and was recently selected in their May selects for my photo of jellyfish.
And because no post should go without a pretty photo, here is a recent image from a session shot in San Francisco with lovely light!
I was in New York a few weeks ago, visiting friends, enjoying the lovely weather, and of course shooting like crazy! I spent a warm Sunday afternoon with Tami and Gregg in Central Park. Both Tami and Gregg are from Southern California, but have lived in the city for over four years. They met while on Birthright in Israel five years ago, and it's been love ever since. I knew they'd be a perfect couple to model for engagement photos, and I was not disappointed! Lucky for them, they have Braedon Flynn as their wedding photographer, and I can't wait to see what magic he produces.
