I was in New York a few weeks ago, visiting friends, enjoying the lovely weather, and of course shooting like crazy! I spent a warm Sunday afternoon with Tami and Gregg in Central Park. Both Tami and Gregg are from Southern California, but have lived in the city for over four years. They met while on Birthright in Israel five years ago, and it's been love ever since. I knew they'd be a perfect couple to model for engagement photos, and I was not disappointed! Lucky for them, they have Braedon Flynn as their wedding photographer, and I can't wait to see what magic he produces.
Karmah and Dan are getting married at the Arista Winery this summer. They had the idea of shooting their engagement photos in a more urban setting, so we walked around downtown San Francisco. It's amazing what a few blocks hold as far as backdrops and color. We had such a lovely time experimenting with different angles and light. I just love the architectural accents throughout the images!
These are some of my favorites!
What can I say about one of the most inspiring women in my life? I'll try to do her justice...Mary Frances is in one word: amazing. She has the biggest and purest heart of anyone I've ever met. She opens her world to strangers and treats them with the same love and respect she gives her close friends. I met Mary through twitter last year when she and a few other lovely photographers stayed with me in NYC. The world of photography is funny that way, we tweet each other in a familial way, and eventually meet as if we've known each other for a lifetime. Mary most recently went on a trip to Uganda, you can follow her story here, to help a friend through the adoption process there. She's heading to Europe next month with the wonderful Jill DeVries for a trip she was meant to take a year ago. I am so excited to hear about their journey, as Europe is very close to my heart. Fortunately for me, Mary lives near by hometown, so I get to see her quite often. We met up a few weeks ago and I got to snap some quick photos of her and her adorable pup Rilo. We walked around her neighborhood, and she humored me while I asked her to sit on people's doorsteps. Thank you, sweet Mary, for teaching me a few things about life.
These moments were the sweetest. Rilo is just a ball of love.
